The Transportation Camp (Camp de la Transportation) has become an important cultural place where history, heritage and the performing arts are combined.
Many other cultural events take place all around the town, such as ‘les Tréteaux du Maroni’, ‘America Moloman’ and ‘le Ciné au Quartier’.

Cinema
Le Toucan
The town organises viewings of recent released films for adults and children.
The cinema can be rented for shows and cultural evenings.

Atelier Vidéo Multimédia (A.V.M.)
Based in block no. 11 in the Transportation Camp (Camp de la Transportation), this video and multimedia society offers training and education in media, as well as a number of film viewings (open to the public) throughout the year.

Theatre
Situated within the Transportation Camp (Camp de la Transportation), the Kokolampoe theatre offers a wide variety of shows and local artistic productions throughout the year that are open to the public.
The annual festival taking place in April, ‘Les Tréteaux du Maroni’, is a must-see.

Thursday Lectures
On the 3rd Thursday of each month, the Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Centre hosts a lecture on its terrace at 18:00. Various topics are discussed.
